  8. WHY REMINDER?
  9. So what sets Reminder apart from all the other
  10. Reminder utilities out there?
  11.  
  12. Well, if you need a program to pop up and remind
  13. you of appointments, birthdays, dates etc. or run
  14. programs, change your workbench background or
  15. play soundfiles at regular or irregular
  16. intervals (just to mention a few examples), I
  17. doubt you will find a program more powerful,
  18. flexible or easy to use than Reminder.

  20. WHAT REMINDER DOES
  21. Reminder is a powerful reminder & taskscheduler
  22. commodity, with an easy to use (font sensitive)
  23. GUI (clock, input, setup, alarm and message
  24. windows). Reminder can be run from both workbench
  25. and CLI.
  26.  
  27. Reminder allows you to enter complex time and
  28. date patterns when messages are to be shown *or*
  29. commands are to be executed. Additionally
  30. Reminder features a small alarm facility, and an
  31. optional window that can show any combination of
  32. available chip memory, fast memory, total memory,
  33. date and time with or without seconds.
  34. Alternatively this information can be displayed
  35. directly in the workbench menubar.

  37. Last but not least Reminder has been continuously
  38. developed and improved since 1991, and
  39. development will continue, as long as there are
  40. users out there, who give me feedback in the form
  41. of suggestions for improvements and - sigh -
  42. bugreports.
